What Makes You Beautiful

I have Cerebral Palsy and was diagnosed at 12 months old but my Mum, knew that things were not quite the way they should be before then.

What is Cerebral Palsy or CP?

It is impaired muscle co-ordination and/or other disabilities caused by damage to the brain before or at birth that controls:

• Movement

• Balance

• Posture

• Motor skills

Portrayed as a Spastic Paralysis

More specifically for me my legs are affected and I have developmental delay which affects my processing time.

l strive and work hard toward independence.

I set myself little goals and achieve them and do jobs around the house to earn pocket money just as my siblings do.

I am a whiz at folding washing.

From 9 months I rode in front of the saddle with my mum and you couldn't keep the smile of my face, I felt complete.

My pony is an extension of me just like my wheelchair and when I am riding and competing I feel free and that I can do anything.

I love One Direction and chocolate and one day I want to be a librarian.

My favorite song is a One Direction song "What makes you beautiful".

I am currently the youngest provisionally classified para equestrian rider in NZ.

I enjoy riding and spending time with my friends and family.

My mum always said beauty comes within and I really believe it does.
