Making my disability work for me

By Krystle Crimmins

It came to me that I needed to be tactical and use my disability as a platform to launch my own business

Hi, I'm Krystle and I would like to share my story.

I have Epilepsy and found it hard getting work. I had a family business for 20 years in which I worked during that time. It sold in 2016 and problems started to arise.

I tried for 2 years in applying for jobs with very little success and got to interview stage but no further.

It came to me that I needed to be tactical and use my disability as a platform to launch my own business in 2018 called Epilepsy First Aid - Educating those about Epilepsy and Signs and Symptoms of Seizures.

I'm proud to be me as I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing today if it wasn't for my lived experience and my disability.
